MMMmmmysore Class
The tastiest way to practice for personal growth and enhanced understanding.
Led classes are wonderful. We can unplug and wait for the teacher to tell us what to do next. This is soothing, nurturing and fulfilling. This approach however is like a chaperoned relationship with the yoga. The teacher always looking over our shoulder to remind us of every breath and movement. This is a blessed way to practice and is certainly valid! But within this approach we can run the risk of becoming dependent on the teachers’ guidance to the point that we do not have a sense of our own rhythm, timing and breath. In order to truly develop a deep and personal relationship with the yoga we need to wean our self away from the teachers’ words and seek the voice of Ashtanga as it arises through the sound of our own breath and the dancing flow of the sequence. The teacher is still present yet only to assist where absolutely necessary. To guide when needed and advise when required. Now the depths of practice spread’s her arms and welcomes us into the flow. This relationship once established is freedom! Now we stand on our own and walk hand in hand with the practice and the ancient wisdom gained from the direct connection. The greatest teachers instill strength, independence and confidence into their students. Mysore practice is a stepping-stone to the path of self-reliance.

Open discussion, stories told and questions asked by the participants in regards to treading the path of practice whilst confronting the pitfalls, pratfalls and fearful encounters of the yogic journey.
Sunday May 5th 2024
9h30 - 11h30
Scorpions, Peacocks and Insects that fly. Oh My! Intermediate Series and the Creatures Within: compassionately Led Intermediate.
The day begins with a compassionate and measured flow of the Intermediate Series. There are many practitioners that feel a bit intimidated by the second series. It is truly an elegant, beautiful and graceful arrangement of asanas that is much more accessible than one might think. David is incredibly intuitive, sensitive and expert in presenting the practice with care, clarity and joy! EVERY asana may be modified, amplified or demystified to suit the needs of every individual. Come and see for yourself!
13h - 15h30
Entering the Jungle and Animal Encounters.
There is a wonderful ‘zoological’ component within the Intermediate Series as the animals come out to play in this dynamic and invigorating sequence. In this second session of the day David will present ways to approach these animals with care, wonder and joy! They will address any specific areas of interest expressed by the participants as well as providing wisdom gained from personal encounters with the wondrous creatures and the cleansing effects on the nervous system, mind and emotional releases from the power of practice.
16h - 17h30
Advantages of Age and the Myth of Eternal Youth
Once again there will be open discussion, stories told and questions taken from the participants this time with the focus being on the inevitable reality of aging and the struggles of acceptance, uncertainty of the unknown and the peace found from embracing the journey.
